Timeless & real photography for the wild and free
My name is Shanna, and I am a hardworking, goal-oriented photographer with a deep passion for preserving meaningful moments. My journey has been shaped by resilience, creativity, and a strong appreciation for both technical skill and artistic expression. I graduated from high school in 1995, and from an early age I was drawn to math and photography—two disciplines that balance structure and creativity and continue to influence how I approach my work today.
In 1996, I joined the United States Army, where I served as a diesel mechanic. My time in the military taught me discipline, responsibility, and the importance of attention to detail. I learned to problem-solve under pressure, adapt to challenging situations, and remain committed to my work. Although my service ended due to an injury and a medical discharge in 1999, that experience shaped my character in lasting ways. The perseverance and work ethic I gained during those years continue to guide both my personal life and my photography business.
Photography has always been more than a hobby for me—it has been a lifelong passion and creative outlet. I believe photographs are powerful because they capture more than an image; they preserve emotion, connection, and stories that deserve to be remembered. My goal as a photographer is to help others document their memories in an authentic and meaningful way. Whether it’s a quiet moment at home, a connection between a person and their animal, or a once-in-a-lifetime milestone, I strive to create images that feel genuine, timeless, and true.
I live East of Roundup, Montana, on 40 acres with my husband. In addition to my Labrador retrievers, horses, cats, and chickens, we have recently begun raising Galloway cattle. This rural lifestyle keeps me grounded and continually reminds me of the beauty found in honest, everyday moments—moments that often become the most meaningful memories. Living this way strongly influences my photography, inspiring a natural, relaxed, and patient approach with every client. When I’m not behind the camera, I enjoy crocheting and reading, both of which allow me to slow down and recharge creatively.
I am also proud to be an affiliate photographer for The Tilly Project, an organization dedicated to honoring the bond between people and their pets through end-of-life photography. This work is especially meaningful to me and reflects my belief in the importance of preserving love, connection, and memory through imagery.
Photography allows me to bring together my life experiences, creativity, and dedication into something truly meaningful. I am honored to help others tell their stories and preserve memories they can cherish for years to come.
